Huge Football Weekend for JMU Football!

November 12th, 2008 by Brant Suter · 1 Comment

One of my favorite perks of living in the Shenandoah Valley is the ability to follow the James Madison University sports programs. Okay, I may be biased being an alumni. However, as Chris Simmons, Sports Editor of the Daily News Record, wrote in a column earlier this fall, “JMU football is now Harrisonburg’s team”!

This weekend the #1 ranked Dukes play host to William & Mary at 1:30 PM Saturday. Tickets to this game have been sold out for over a month. If JMU, undefeated in conference play, can hold off the second ranked Tribe, they will be just one win away from obtaining home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The cheapest tickets selling online are going for $85/pair (four times the face value!). However, you can usually find extra tickets for a much better price the day of the game. Typically, season ticket holders will sell their tickets for face value in the tailgate areas or near the gate entrance of the stadium. I would suggest getting there early, enjoy the festivities, and cheer on the Dukes to victory!
