Can You Really Buy a House in Good Condition for $150,000?

September 25th, 2009 by Lisa Oates · No Comments

The Harrisonburg area has relatively good home prices. In fact the average price of a home in our area is around $250,000. Add that to a great location with lots of amenities and conveniences, wonderful community, and low cost of living, and you’ve got yourself a deal!

Some folks, though, simply can’t afford a home for that $250,000 price tag. Even though housing is affordable here in the Shenandoah Valley, is it really possible to purchase a house in good condition for, say, $150,000 or less?

The answer: YES!

Here is a small sampling of homes that have sold for $150,000 or less in the past year. They are all in good condition, and located in Harrisonburg or Rockingham County.
