Home Prices in Harrisonburg Compared To The Rest of Virginia

October 8th, 2009 by Lisa Oates · No Comments

Have you ever wondered what home prices are like in other parts of the state, compared to where they’re at here in Harrisonburg? I’ve been hearing about heat maps through the marketing grape vine lately, and just came across one on Trulia, one of the sites where we highlight our listings. Trulia not only has a great home search application, but it also has advice, tips, articles, data, and other helpful real estate information.

Back to the heat map… This particular heat map shows the average list price for homes across the Commonwealth of Virginia, and how they rank according to a color key system. You’ll notice on the map below that Harrisonburg and Rockingham County fall into the mid-ranges for home prices, and places like Northern Virginia, Charlotesville, and some areas on the coastline are in the high-ranges. The lowest priced homes are in Southwest Virginia, and South central Virginia, where the population is smaller, and there aren’t as many “booming” industries.

Trulia also has a heat map for popularity amongst users who search for homes on their site. Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are in the second ranked area! (So, as a note to sellers, we put our listings in a very popular buyer marketplace. High traffic = more views of your property = more chances for showings!)
