More Jobs Coming To The Shenandoah Valley

October 5th, 2009 by Lisa Oates · No Comments

Virginia has been ranked one of the top states for doing business, and starting a business, in the nation, according to Forbes.com, CNBC, US News and World Report, and some others. This is always great news to hear, especially for us residents!

Governor Tim Kaine announced a few days ago that:

“Shenandoah Sustainable Technologies, LLC (SST), a Rockingham County based sustainable construction company will add 72 jobs and $600,000 in capital investment throughout Virginia over the next three years. SST specializes in the construction of self-sufficient buildings and the retrofitting of existing buildings. The company serves residential, commercial and faith-based communities with a variety of sustainable utilities, including geothermal heating/cooling systems, solar and wind power, and rainwater and wastewater collection systems.”

Perhaps the Shenandoah Valley will be known as the leader in alternative energy generation and conservation?

72 jobs? $600,000? Yes, please! Not only will this add jobs, but this will also stimulate Virginia’s — and the Valley’s — economy, and will help us through the recession.
