Introducing House Stories: Every Home Has a History… We’re Here to Tell the Story

The Shenandoah Valley is rich with history, most widely known for the American Civil War… but have you ever wondered about the homes that are nestled in this luscious valley? Some have been around for hundreds of years, while others have just been constructed. House Stories, just launched by The Harrisonburg Homes Team, is a virtual storybook of the history of homes old and new in our area.

Introducing House Stories: Every House Has a History... We're Here to Tell the Story

Who’s behind all this? Us: The Harrisonburg Homes Team. We’re passionate about houses, especially when they tell intriguing tales of their pasts — whether those pasts are long or short.

Every home has a history, and we’re here to tell the story.

Introducing House Stories: Every House Has a History... We're Here to Tell the Story

Our first House Story features an interview with Mike and Donna Trainum, owners of 205 Franklin Street in Harrisonburg’s historic Old Town neighborhood. This home has undergone an amazing transformation over the years, so we’ve included several photos and memories made throughout this home to highlight its restoration, which is both attractive and functional. (Teaser: this home used to be a quadraplex, has hosted weddings, become an impromptu live music hall, and more!)

Visit often to read the pages in our virtual storybook of the history of homes throughout the Shenandoah Valley. We’re thrilled to share this journey with you!
