Fellow coffee lovers, cast your eyes on a new artisan micro-roaster at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in downtown Elkton — Blue Elk Coffee Company. Better yet, take a deep breath and imagine your senses being overcome as you breathe in the fresh aroma of just-roasted coffee. Are you in your happy place?
Fresh is truly best when it comes to really, really good coffee. Order one-pound bags or 4 ounce samples online, and Blue Elk roasts it and ships it the same day. Plus, they offer custom roasts and you can choose what time you want it, down to the minute. Can’t get any more fresh than that!
If you’d like to try out Blue Elk’s roasts before purchasing online, head over to El Paso Mexican Grille, where it is a featured beverage.
We were thrilled to hear all about Blue Elk directly from the owner, Jeff Butler. His excitement about high quality coffee and how it brings people together is infectious. Here’s what he had to say about his new business:
We buy direct trade whenever possible from family coffee farms in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil and the world at large. We are currently in the process of sourcing beans for our soon to be Elkspresso blend.
We are actively shipping all over now and love being a part of our customer’s lives and seeing that through their “in the life of” photos. Our “electric blue” roaster is powered by 15 thousand watts of coffee roasting goodness.
In addition to reaching people near and far, one of our big picture goals is to be a part of a resurgence of artisan crafts in our small town. We are striving to grow and support the local economy and provide a means of keeping people connected. What better way than over a cup of freshly roasted coffee?!
Blue Elk Coffee makes the good, as well as the not so great times, better – it’s coffee worth getting up for. Try some!
