Water Street Vintage & Bohemian is opening on August 13th in the previous location of the Midtowne Bottle Shop on Water Street in downtown Harrisonburg. This shop offers a great variety of vintage clothing, a fun selection of hats, and unique jewelry (+ much more) all presented in a fun atmosphere. The owner, Mike Harlow, was kind enough to give us a sneak peek of his shop and share more about it.
We are excited to welcome photograpers Joe Fitzgerald and AJ Morey to the WDG for the months of August and September! More about their exhibit "Defy the Machine": “Machine” is a complex and versatile term, referring to a calculated assemblage of parts that together transmit force, motion and energy (transportation, factories, technology). Machine is a metaphor describing the way persons or systems work (methodical, relentless, efficient, tireless). Machines are part of our identity as a civilization, but it is an identity we struggle with and sometimes resist. These photographs capture how we defy, embrace or even create the machine
It's the dog days of summer here in the Friendly City and we're seeing the spring's pending listings turning into sales (with a significant change of 23% above last June). New listings have fallen slightly (by 6%), but the average days on market continue to drop and the average price per square foot is on the upswing ($126 as compared to $119 from last June). The median sales price has shot up to $210,250 - 9% from 2017!
