New Stress Reduction Program Through Rockingham Memorial Hospital (RMH)

It is probably safe to say that we could all use a little stress relief — some of us a lot more than others. Well, folks, stress out no longer! Rockingham Memorial Hospital (RMH) is now providing a stress relief course called “The Power of Mindfulness,” facilitated by Dr. Keffer, a professor in the JMU department of biology, and Dr. Kyler, who has been practicing radiation oncology at RMH since 1990.

Stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and other conditions can build up, making it difficult to find contentment and live peacefully.  RMH offers Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a program that guides you through the intensive application of mindfulness meditation to increase your self-awareness and take control of what is happening in your life.

The MBSR program is an eight-week course that includes weekly meetings, a day-long retreat, and daily meditation and yoga practice led by facilitators specially trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction.

Weekly Meetings: Wednesdays, Sept. 29 – Nov. 17, 6:30pm-9pm
1-Day Retreat: Saturday, Nov. 6, 9:30am – 4pm
Location: Hahn Building, Conference Center, 2008 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, VA (Parking available in Lot B)
Cost: $249/person (includes program and materials)

Registration is required! Call RMH HealthSource at 800-433-4580 or register online.
