Exploring Harrisonburg’s Suburbs: Broadway and Timberville

Exploring Harrisonburg's Suburbs: Broadway & Timberville | Harrisonblog

Broadway and Timberville are two small towns in northern Rockingham County that are located adjacent to each other, and each offer their communities something wonderful.

The Town of Broadway boasts a population of just over 3,000 residents and is located approximately 12 miles north of Harrisonburg along Route 42. This highway turns into Main Street within town limits, with locally owned shops and restaurants lining either side. Broadway offers something for everyone, and provides many amenities (even beyond Main Street) — a grocery store, greenhouses, banks, a farmers market, fun shops, lumber yards, and more — so a trip to Harrisonburg isn’t always necessary. Residents can enjoy the small town life while still being within close proximity to anything they need!

The Town of Timberville casts amazing views of the Shenandoah Valley, with its open, rolling countryside, and is nestled along the banks of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. This little portion of Rockingham County is growing steadily and new businesses are popping up on a regular basis — yet, it still keeps its friendly, quaint feel.
