step two // think about recurring tasks

What are tasks that come up on a daily or weekly basis? Meal planning… grocery shopping… household chores… scheduling the week….

Include a spot for each of those tasks in your command center.

You know those small items that often make you think, where did I put that last? Make a home for those in your command center.

All you need to do is look at the flat surface closest to your door to figure out what items these are – this pile of nomad items usually consists of mail, bills, coupons, homework, and school papers.

Unless you can tuck your command center away in a hidden corner or closet, it will take up a good amount of wall space. So, make it aesthetically pleasing. Add a little style with a framed inspirational quote or picture. Pick organizational items that are both practical and attractive.

The final step before putting holes in your wall – lay your entire command center masterpiece out on the floor or a large table. This way you can double check that it looks like you want it to (and that it takes up the amount of space you want it to) before putting it up.
