Have you always loved to make things?

Paul: Yes, I’ve always been a creative, hands-on person and have been designing and making all sorts of things since I was a child. I went to VCU for art and built up quite a toolbox of skills there, including woodworking, metalsmithing, printmaking, drawing, and design. It wasn’t until a few years later that I learned to sew and was hooked. My wife always jokes that I’m impossible to shop for because my usual response is something like, “I could probably figure out how to make that.”

What products will you offer in Agora Market?

Paul: My retail space at Agora Downtown Market will showcase the full line of Lineage bags and accessories that I personally design and will be creating on site. Waxed canvas and leather totes, hand bags, aprons, dopp kits, leather wallets, belts, and key fobs. In addition to the Lineage product line, I’ve curated a collection of goods from some of my favorite artisans, makers, and a few larger brands, both local and from all over the US and beyond.

Customers will find a little of everything, including handcrafted cutting boards and utensils, heritage wool blankets and pillows, enamelware, US made hats, socks and gloves, pour-over coffee supplies, barware, natural grooming and apothecary goods, art prints and stationary, and unique gifts for that person that has everything.

What are you most excited for in your new space?

I’m most excited about having my studio downtown and giving people an opportunity to see things being made and learn about my process. And I’m excited to be surrounded by a such a supportive community of unique, creative local businesses.
