Wilson Downtown Gallery: Rachel Burchfield

We are excited to welcome back Rachel Burchfield to the gallery for the months of December and January! Rachel specializes in acrylic pour art and we’re excited to be able to showcase such colorful pieces for a good cause! She loves photography, writing and blogging, and discovered a love for painting; she picked up painting as a form of distraction therapy to help cope with the chronic illnesses she faces. Much to her surprise, people began expressing interest in the abstract paintings, and it quickly became a more prominent part of Rachel’s life. Because of her own illnesses, Rachel started a project called Newbie Tubie Care Packages and sends packages to children and young adults who are preparing for their first surgical feeding tubes, and she funds this with the sale of her artwork. 100% of Positively Rachel Art & Design profits go towards these packages, so with each purchase, you are enabling another box to be sent to a “newbie tubie.”

Each painting in this show will be named after the “tubie” whose package/shipping cost it will sponsor. Packages are free to the recipient, so Rachel relies on donors and artwork sales to sponsor this program.

Follow her on Instagram and Facebook (IG – NewbieTubies / positivelyrachel | FB – Newbie Tubie Care Packages / Positively Rachel).

Stop by the Gallery during business hours to view her work!
