We here at Harrisonblog love the Agora Market in downtown Harrisonburg. It has candy, clothing, candles, coffee, hardware, running shoes...the list goes on. We've done a bit of sleuthing and found some unusual items you wouldn't expect to find in Agora Market...
We think Harrisonburg is a fantastic place. We also think birthdays are pretty fantastic things to celebrate. So clearly, Harrisonburg and birthdays go together perfectly. We've compiled a list of some of our Team's favorite places for birthday celebrations in (and around) Harrisonburg.
As someone who works downtown, I have walked by the Free Clinic hundreds (if not thousands) of times. And yet, I was not fully aware of what a remarkable and necessary community resource it is - a (quite literally) life-saving service for many of my neighbors. The clinic is full of exceptional people on a mission "to provide affordable, sustainable healthcare services for low-income and uninsured adults, primarily through volunteer resources and community support." An incredible resource for so many in the community, one Free Clinic doctor calls his volunteer work at the clinic "the purest form of medicine." Read on to learn a little bit about what the clinic is all about.
Our team consists of both avid coffee drinkers and occasional sippers, coffee snobs and K-cup connoisseurs. We often meet up with clients -- and each other! -- at these local and regional coffee shops in Harrisonburg where this delectable brew plays a major role on the menu, so we're confident in saying they are the best.
We as a Team love and support the Arts Council of the Valley and the work they do to make life more enriched for all of us in Harrisonburg. We recently had the chance to talk with Jenny Burden who was a member of our Team before taking on the role of Executive Director at the Arts Council. Needless to say, she has a special place in our hearts and we're thrilled with the work she's doing for arts in our community.
